PROCLAMATION
National Recovery Month: September 2022
WHEREAS, September is National Recovery Month and addiction is a recognized
mental health disorder, and
WHEREAS, National Recovery Month is a time to celebrate and support sobriety,
whether you are in recovery, a family member or loved one supportive of someone
suffering from the disease of addiction, or just sober curious, and
WHEREAS, the goal of National Recovery Month is to increase awareness about
substance use and mental health disorders, and
WHEREAS, National Recovery Month is a time to promote education and access to
treatment options for substance use and mental health services, and
WHEREAS, September is a month to celebrate each day of recovery, and
WHEREAS, recovery stories importantly help to break the stigma surrounding addiction
and spread hope that recovery is possible, even when the cycle of addiction seems
endless.
NOW THEREFORE, be it resolved that I, Amdda Mdrquez Simula, Mayor of Columbia
Heights, do hereby proclaim the month of September 2022 to be National Recovery
Month, in the City of Columba Heights, County of Anoka, State of MN, U.S.A.
