PROCLAMATION
National Night Out: August 4, 2026
National Night Out provides an opportunity for Columbia Heights residents to come
together in celebration of community, connection, and neighborhood pride.
Strong communities are built through relationships. When neighbors know one
another, share experiences, and work together to support their neighborhoods, they
help create a safer, more welcoming, and more resilient city for everyone.
Columbia Heights recognizes the importance of fostering connections among residents
of all ages, cultures, backgrounds, and lived experiences. National Night Out provides
an opportunity to strengthen those connections, celebrate the unique character of our
neighborhoods, and promote a sense of belonging throughout the community.
The Columbia Heights Police Department is committed to building positive
relationships with residents and serving as a trusted community partner. Through
National Night Out and other community engagement efforts, the department works
alongside residents, neighborhood groups, businesses, and community organizations to
support a vibrant and connected city.
National Night Out reminds us that creating strong neighborhoods is a shared
responsibility and that meaningful relationships between neighbors help build the
foundation for a thriving community.
