HomeMy WebLinkAbout2026-049 Acceptance of Donations to Fire DepartmentRESOLUTION NO. 2026-049 A RESOLUTION ACCEPTING DONATIONS TO THE COLUMBIA HEIGHTS FIRE DEPARTMENT 1. The City Council hereby gratefully accepts the following donations on behalf of the Columbia Heights Fire Department: • A funeral casket with an estimated value of $3,500 for use by the Fire Department Honor Guard as a training aid. • Seventy-six (76) Kidde DETECT 10-year battery -powered combination smoke and carbon monoxide alarms (Model 30CUD110), with an estimated retail value of $4,557.72, for use in the department's community risk reduction, public education, and smoke alarm installation programs. 2. The Fire Department is authorized to utilize the donated casket for Honor Guard training and ceremonial preparedness and the donated smoke and carbon monoxide alarms for public education and community safety initiatives. 3. The City Council expresses its appreciation to Kidde and Thomas L. Dunleavy for their generous support of the Columbia Heights Fire Department and the community it serves. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED The City Council hereby gratefully accepts the donations on behalf of the Columbia Heights Fire Department. ORDER OF COUNCIL Passed this 27th day of July, 2026.
