HomeMy WebLinkAbout2026-046 Transfer Funding To Fund 411RESOLUTION NO. 2026-46 A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING CERTAIN FUNDING TO GOVERNMENT BUILDINGS FUND 411 WHEREAS the City Council of the City of Columbia Heights on an ongoing basis makes resources available within the City of Columbia Heights' Government Buildings Fund 411 for the improvement and replacement of buildings used for City operations; and On May 26, 2026, the City Council of the City of Columbia Heights adopted a five-year capital improvement plan (CIP) for the complete replacement of the City's Municipal Service Center building at significant cost and long-term financing for this project will not be obtained the next twelve months; and Staff analysis shows that, until long-term financing for the Municipal Service Center project is secured, the Government Buildings Fund 411 will require additional resources to fund various updates and small improvements to other existing city buildings, so as to address the needs and opportunities that routinely arise in the use of these buildings; and $200,000 of unrestricted resources are available in the City of Columbia Heights' Risk Management Fund 884, in excess of the planned $1,500,000 of fund balance to be retained in the Risk Management Fund; NOW, THEREFORE, in accordance with all ordinances and regulations of the City of Columbia Heights, the City Council of the City of Columbia Heights makes the following: ORDER OF COUNCIL IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED, that: 1. An interfund transfer of $200,000 from the Risk Management Fund 884 to the Government Buildings Fund 411 is authorized. 2. Up to $35,000 is appropriated for expenditure within Government Buildings Fund 411 for minor improvements to City hall. 3. Up to $25,000 is appropriated for expenditure within Government Buildings Fund 411 for minor improvements to Murzyn hall.
