A RESOLUTION AMENDING THE 2026 CITY FEE SCHEDULE
The City Council of the City of Columbia Heights is committed to maintaining a comprehensive, up-to-date
fee schedule that supports efficient and effective public service delivery. The City Council met in a work
session on March 2, 2026 and discussed the proposed changes to the fee schedule regarding the licensing
of mobile food preparation vehicles that are regulated under the Minnesota State Fire Code and require an
operational fire permit pursuant to MSFC Section 105.6.
The City of Columbia Heights has entered into a Mobile Food Unit Fire Inspection Reciprocity Agreement
with participating Anoka County cities to reduce redundant inspections, streamline permitting, and
maintain uniform fire and life safety standards
To align the City's fee structure with the regional reciprocity model and improve transparency within the
fee schedule, the City Council finds it necessary to remove mobile food preparation vehicles from the
general operational fire permit category and create a distinct permit classification.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Columbia Heights as follows:
1. The 2026 City Fee Schedule is hereby amended to remove mobile food preparation vehicles from the
category titled: "Operational Permits as set forth in Minnesota State Fire Code not specifically listed
here — $200."
2. The following fee category is hereby created: Mobile food preparation vehicle operational fire permit —
$100
3. This amendment shall become effective upon approval of this resolution.
ORDER OF COUNCIL
