ANIMAL IMPOUND SERVICES AGREEMENT
PET CENTRAL ANIMAL HOSPITAL AND
CITY OF COLUMBIA HEIGHTS, MN - 2023
It is mutually agreed by and between Pet Central Animal Hospital and the
City of Columbia Heights as follows:
1. Services - Pet Central Animal Hospital shall serve as the impound
facility for the City of Columbia Heights providing services as follows:
a. Pet Central shall receive and care for any small domestic animal
brought to it by an authorized city representative.
b. If an animal is diseased, dangerous, rabid or exposed to rabies
and the animal cannot be impounded without serious risk to the
persons attempting to impound the animal, it may be
immediately euthanized.
c. Impounded animals shall be kept in a suitable, humane manner
for a period required by city ordinance (5 business days).
d. In the event that any animal is unclaimed after 5 business days
it shall become the property of Pet Central Animal Hospital and
may be disposed of or sold at its sole discretion.
2. Fees -
a. If an animal is unclaimed, the City of Columbia Heights shall pay
Pet Central Animal Hospital the charges as agreed on page 2
(service agreement pricing structure) once provided with an
itemized invoice.
b. Before an animal is reunited to its owner, Pet Central Animal
Hospital shall collect the charges from the owner.
3. Additional expenses - Any expenses not mentioned under the pricing
structure must be approved in writing by a Captain of the Columbia
Heights Police Department (e-mail is acceptable).
4. Records - Pet Central Animal Hospital will maintain a record of all
animals impounded and will comply with all State and Federal laws
relating to data privacy and confidentiality.
5. Insurance - Pet Central Animal Hospital will maintain at its own
expense a general liability insurance policy and written proof of
insurance will be provided to the City upon request.
6. Nothing contained in this agreement is intended or should be
construed as creating the relationship of employer and employee
between Pet Central Animal Hospital and the City of Columbia Heights.
7. Term - This agreement will take effect immediately and will
automatically extend for additional one year terms, unless either party
gives written notice of intent not to extend at least sixty days prior to
the expiration of the current term.
8. Cancellation - The agreement may be cancelled with or without cause
by either party upon sixty days written notice.

Daily boarding fee (up to 6 days) $ 30.00
Fecal Float for Parasites $ 40.00
Veterinary services if needed up to $ 150.00
Impound Release fee $ 60.00
Euthanasia with cremation surcharge $ 15.00
Distemper vaccine (given if unclaimed after 24 hours) $ 15.00
