I. BUILDING MAINTENANCE AND EQUIPMENT
A. A telephone dialer failed and was replaced in the fire/security alarm system.
II. TECHNOLOGY
A. The Comprise pc and print management system went live on December 22. Most patrons can use
it without staff assistance. IS staff continue to work on glitches in the interaction between
Comprise and Sirsi Dynix, accuracy of cash reports, and the copy function.
III. COLLECTION
A. Book and AV materials previously ordered and on standing orders were received throughout the
month but no additional orders were placed.
B. Weeding was completed in adult nonfiction 690-790. Weeding of juvenile nonfiction was
completed; weeding of young adult fiction began.
IV. PROGRAMS AND VIRTUAL EVENTS
A. Tween book club met virtually on December 1.
B. Virtual LEGO Challenge premiered on December 9.
C. A story stroll for families was offered at Huset Park on December 15-16.
D. The adult book club met virtually to discuss “Killers of the Flower Moon: the Osage Murders
and the Birth of the FBI” on December 16.
E. The Works facilitated a virtual program for youth on electrical circuitry on December 29.
F. A Poems in the Park event was held at LaBelle Park on December 31.
G. “Grab and Go” activity kits were distributed for children in birth-K, grades 1-5, and grades 6-12.
H. Adult “Take and Make” craft kits were distributed.
I. The adult ESL conversation circle met virtually on Monday evenings facilitated by MetroNorth
Adult Basic Education.
J. Deliveries of materials were made to At-Home patrons.
K. Curbside pickup of materials was available upon request.
V. STAFF
A. I met with Youth Services Librarian Bri Belanger for her annual performance evaluation.
B. Full-time staff were trained on the Community Room AV equipment.
C. Full time staff were trained on administrative reports available in Comprise software.
D. Youth Services Librarian Bri Belanger participated in three meetings related to the 21st Century
Community Learning Centers grant.
VI. FOUNDATION
A. The Foundation did not meet this month.
VII. MISC
A. I met with the city manager and department heads on December 14.
B. I met with the Anoka County Library Management team on December 10.
C. I met with Anoka County, Columbia Heights, and Comprise staff on December 7 and 10.
D. The Library closed at 4 pm on December 23 due to inclement weather.
