I. BUILDING MAINTENANCE AND EQUIPMENT
II. TECHNOLOGY
A. The Comprise pc and print management project continues; eight staff were trained on November
17. A recording of the training will be provided for other staff.
B. Tierney Brothers addressed punch list items for the Community Room AV equipment; staff have
not yet been trained.
III. COLLECTION
A. Adult print materials were selected from the July and August issues of Booklist, Kirkus Reviews,
and Library Journal. Adult paperback fiction, romance, and westerns were ordered. Juvenile
print materials were selected from the July issue of Booklist and the August issues of Booklist,
Growing Minds, and School Library Journal. Adult audiobooks and DVDs were ordered.
B. Weeding was completed in adult fiction F-M and adult nonfiction 641-689. Weeding of juvenile
music was completed; weeding of juvenile nonfiction continued.
IV. PROGRAMS AND VIRTUAL EVENTS
A. A Notes of Gratitude program was offered for adults on November 4.
B. The Library Board met in a hybrid virtual/in-person meeting on November 4.
C. Virtual LEGO Challenge premiered on November 11.
D. An outdoors, in-person, Minnesota geochemistry program for youth was held on November 12.
E. A virtual program on story quilts for youth was held on November 13.
F. One Family Discovery Saturday program featuring geocaching was held at Silverwood Park on
November 14.
G. A virtual card-making program for adults was offered with funding from the MN Arts and
Cultural Heritage Fund on November 16.
H. A story stroll for families was offered at Prestemon Park on November 17-18.
I. The Adult Book Club met virtually to discuss “The Alchemist” on November 18.
J. Three virtual storytimes were held via Facebook Premier on Monday mornings.
K. Tween book club was rescheduled from November 21 to December 1.
L. “Grab and Go” activity kits were distributed for children in birth-K, grades 1-5, and grades 6-12.
M. Adult “Take and Make” craft kits were distributed.
N. The adult ESL conversation circle met virtually on Monday evenings facilitated by MetroNorth
Adult Basic Education.
O. Deliveries of materials were made to At-Home patrons.
P. Curbside pickup of materials was available upon request.
V. STAFF
A. I met with Page Yuliana Morocho-Calderon for her first performance evaluation.
B. I met with Clerk Typist II Kelly Olson for her annual performance evaluation.
C. Full-time staff were trained in the patron and staff interfaces of the Comprise pc and print
management software.
D. Library staff tracked reference interactions as part of a MELSA survey week from November 16
through 21.
E. Adult Services Librarian Cortni O’Brien attending training from Anoka County CareerForce
staff on virtual resources for job seekers. She also participated in MELSA’s adult programming
interest group meeting.
F. Youth Services Librarian Bri Belanger participated in two meetings related to the 21st Century
Community Learning Centers grant.
VI. FOUNDATION
A. The Foundation did not meet this month.
VII. MISC
A. I met with the city manager and department heads on November 2, 9, 16, 23, and 30.
B. I presented the proposed 2021 library budget at a City Council work session on November 2.
C. I met with the Anoka County Library Management team on November 5 and 19.
D. I met with the Anoka County Library Public Services team on November 25.
E. I met with Anoka County, Columbia Heights, and Comprise staff on November 4 and 18.
