COLLECTION PROJECTS A. Magazines: Magazine labels were typed for newly received magazines. B. Damaged Shelf: Items older than 1 month were cleared from the shelf this month. C. Paperback order: No paperback orders were sent this month. D. Book Display: There was no display this month since we are encouraging patrons to limit their time in the building to 90 minutes and seating by the fireplace is blocked off. E. Weeding Projects: Renee and Bri are regularly giving me books to withdraw. F. Withdrawn items: Books are withdrawn from the system each week and are placed in a box to go to Better World Books if they are accepted by the company. If not or if they are in very bad shape they are recycled. II. MAINTENANCE A. Fire extinguisher: The fire extinguishers were checked September 29th. B. Security gates: Security gates were checked twice a day. Due COVID-19, our limited hours, and no in-person programming the gatecount numbers are lower than at this time last year. C. Public Works: This month, Public Works replaced paving stones in parts of the parking lot over several days. D. Month End Statistics: The statistics for the previous month will be totaled and sent to staff by Friday, October 2nd. E. Bulletin Board: Old notices are removed once they have expired or have been up for thirty days and new notices are put up as we receive them. The only new notices that have been put up this month are city job openings, and voter information. F. Reading: Shelf reading assignments are being done by the pages, they have new assignments for Fall. G. Website and Facebook: Periodic updates of both Facebook and the web page were completed. Both pages feature recurring events, one-time events, and information about what services we are offering right now. Events were created for October programs, Stay at Home storytimes are being posted on Monday mornings again, and information about COVID-19 housing assistance was shared.
