PROGRAMS a. August live programs were cancelled due to COVID-19. b. We served summer lunches 2 more times this month. Summer lunch was a great success and we got more than 1,500 lunches and snacks into kids’ hands this summer. c. This month’s virtual LEGO Challenge asked kids to create their own game. d. The summer reading program commenced this month with lower participation than normal. Birth-K: 15 participants, Grades 1-6: 20 participants, Teens: 1 participant. 18 prize books were given out. 17 virtual programs were held and had a total of 158 views. II. COLLECTION a. Book orders placed this month include: Booklist 3/15/20, 4/1/20 and Music CDs b. Weeding of E Nonfiction was completed. III. PROJECTS a. Worked on fall programming contracts b. Compiled Heights Happenings copy for fall newsletter c. Planned September’s tween book club d. Monitored and managed summer registration e. Managed summer lunch program f. Developed fall storytime plans g. Planned stroller storytime h. Entered fall programs into Libcal and Outlook calendars i. Recorded and edited library orientation video and welcome for ISD 13 new teacher orientation. j. Compiled summer reading in review statistics IV. GRANTS, MEETINGS, COMMUNITY 8/18: Zoom meeting with ISD 13 regarding school year collaboration 8/25: Talking About Race in Storytime Training- virtual V. STAFF a. Kelly Olson worked on book orders. She completed her usual tasks including month end reports, magazines, receiving books, and purchase requests. b. Farrah Briest has been working on selection tools and processing. She is also brainstorming and creating content such as LEGO Challenge videos and Activity Kit suggestions. She is coordinating with pages to complete storytime props and flannel boards as well as assisting me with the summer lunch program.
