PROGRAMS a. July live programs were cancelled due to COVID-19. b. Virtual Storytimes continue to be offered Mondays at 10:30 on Facebook Premiere. c. Story Strolls continued this month at Keyes and LaBelle Parks. Families are encouraged to discover city parks while reading book pages set out along park trails. d. Four youth participated in a four-day virtual engineering camp. They spent each day working together to engineer machinery and gear that would help them survive the zombie apocalypse. e. This month’s virtual LEGO Challenge was to create a spinning top. f. We cancelled 2 programs due to low registration: Manga Workshop and Mural Camp. g. Summer lunch service continued this month. Families are able to pick up a full week’s lunches and snacks for each youth in the household. We are also including activities like coloring pages and crayons or sidewalk chalk. II. COLLECTION a. Book orders placed this month include: SLJ 3/20 Growing Minds 3/20 and 4/20, Booklist 1/1 and 1/14/20, 2/1/20, 2/15/10, and 3/1/20 and spoken word. b. Weeding of E Nonfiction continued III. PROJECTS a. Recorded and edited virtual storytimes b. Developed and planned for Story Strolls c. Continued fall program planning d. Monitored and managed summer registration e. Managed summer lunch program f. Prepared for ESL class virtual visit g. Worked on developing fall activity kits h. Planned fall storytimes IV. GRANTS, MEETINGS, COMMUNITY 7/7: Phone call with Marie from Code Savvy 7/9: Youthprise Summer Lunch Audit 7/16: Met with Katie from Rec Department regarding fall 21CCLC programming 7/22: Returned 4-H Tech Wizards Equipment to Bunker Hills Activity Center 7/23: Talked to CHHS ESL classroom about library V. STAFF a. Kelly Olson worked on book orders. She completed her usual tasks including month end reports, magazines, receiving books, and purchase requests. Additionally, she helped with curbside pickup and she is deep cleaning and organizing youth materials. b. Farrah Briest has been working on selection tools and processing. She is also brainstorming and creating summer content such as LEGO Challenge videos and photo scavenger hunts. She is coordinating with pages to complete DIY decorations for the youth area as well and she assists me with the summer lunch program.
