I. Adult Programs and Displays
a. The library remained closed to the public due to COVID-19. All in-person programs were
cancelled.
b. Library board member Steve Smith presented a Facebook Live program: Organizing Your
Important Documents, on May 7. The video had 4 “live” views and has a total of 398
views.
c. The library hosted local meditator Arvind Naik for a “Meditation for Inner Peace”
program via Zoom on May 12. Seven adults attended.
d. The first virtual ESL conversation circle was held on May 18 via google groups. Two
registrants from Columbia Heights patron community were in attendance. The program
is offered in partnership with the Adult Basic Education Center.
e. The library will host a One Book/One Minnesota book discussion of “Because of
Winn-Dixie” on May 27.
f. Nick created an online local trivia challenge geared toward for adults to celebrate National
Library Week. 210 people have participated in the challenge to date.
II. Meetings
a. I met with the City’s Centennial Celebration planning committee on May 4 via Zoom.
b. I attended the MLA Public Libraries Division Listening and Sharing Session on May 5 via
Zoom.
c. I met with the Melsa adult services subgroup on May 18 via zoom.
d. I attended the Anoka County Libraries’ Beanstacks summer reading training on May 13 via
Webex.
e. I attended two COHPL reopening planning meetings (all-staff) on May 21.
III. Projects
a. A mini ESL learning collection was compiled.
b. Reopening, sanitation, and curbside pick-up supplies were ordered.
c. Adult audiobooks were ordered.
d. Youth DVDs were ordered.
e. Selection tools spreadsheet.
IV. Other
a. One At-Home-Delivery was made, following safe, curbside procedures.
