Adult Programs and Displays a. Library displays throughout the month included “Women’s History Month,” “We Count: US Census,” and a special “League of Women Voters 1920-2020” display in the glass display case and surrounding area. b. Four adults attended Senior Surf, an introductory computer class for seniors, age 55+, on Wednesday, March 4, instructed by a certified trainer from the Minnesota Board on Aging and Metropolitan Area Agency on Aging. c. Five adults attended the monthly Needlecraft Drop-in Group on March 9. Volunteer Janna Bereuter led the group in a “Hand Sewn Rabbit” craft. d. The Anoka County Law Librarian met with 3 people on March 11. e. Conversation Circles for adult English language learners met on Monday evenings and Thursday afternoons through March 12 only due to the library closure on March 17. Throughout those two weeks, 27 people participated in a Conversation Circle at the library. f. Five “Buddy Up and Read” partners met a total of 6 times to practice their English language reading and speaking skills. g. The Library Book Club on March 18 was cancelled due to library closure. h. The Birdscaping Basics class on March 18 was cancelled due to library closure. i. The Closet Organizing Workshop on March 24 was cancelled due to library closure. j. The Bizarre History of Minnesota Legacy Program on March 30 was cancelled due to library closure. k. The Organize Your Documents program on March 31 was cancelled due to library closure. l. Deliveries were made to two At-Home Patrons. II. Meetings a. Cortni met with the Friends of the Library on March 11. b. Library staff were briefed by Fire Chief Thomson on March 20 III. Projects a. Many book donations were processed, added to the collection, or sold in the ongoing book sale. b. Adult and children’s dvds, office supplies, and program supplies were ordered. c. Contracts for spring and summer programs were written. IV. Other a. Fourteen adult volunteers donated 41 hours to the library, working with adult English Language learners, delivering materials to At-Home Patrons, working as computer tutors, creating displays, and performing miscellaneous tasks at the library. b. Summer program and anniversary event planning was in process.
