PROGRAMS a. LEGO Challenge met on 3/11 and 9 kids and grownups used design thinking and problem solving skills to build and create an animal dream home. b. Tech Wizards continued to meet this month to work on their films. We have 8 regular attendees 3 of whom lead the group in icebreakers and reflections. c. All other March programs were cancelled this month to keep our community safe due to the COVID-19 threat. d. We currently have one teen volunteer whose hours total 4 hours this month. e. Program counts are as follows: Community Room- Family Storytime 3/9/2020 36 Community Room- 4-H Tech Wizards 3/10/2020 8 Community Room- LEGO Challenge 3/11/2020 9 Community Room- Baby Storytime 3/12/2020 17 II. COLLECTION a. Book orders placed this month include: Booklist 9/15/19, Series Made Simple Fall 2019, Book Links 9/19 and 11/19 World Language, Graphic Novels, and Replacements and Adds. b. Weeding of E fiction continued. III. PROJECTS a. Vacation 3/1-3/8 b. Scheduled Summer Reading school visits c. Managed youth space and programming during COVID-19 crisis d. Ordered summer reading prize materials e. Applied for summer lunch f. Prepared a summer program to do list, plan, and schedule g. Created March book display of fruits and veggies picturebooks to advertise STEAM Saturday h. Prepared for Graphic Novel Book Club i. Entered summer programming into LibCal j. Created video on accessing eBooks for district families k. Finished summer vendor contracts l. Brainstormed plan for virtual programming and delivering essential services during closure m. Created work plan for closure IV. GRANTS, MEETINGS, COMMUNITY V. STAFF a. Kelly Olson worked on book orders. She also fulfilled the many bulk loan bins we had this month. She completed her usual tasks including month end reports, magazines, counting money, receiving books, and purchase requests. Additionally, she helps with volunteen supervision. b. Farrah Briest planned and delivered LEGO Club. She also helps with ICS visits, cleans toys, develops and maintains teen passive activities, maintains early literacy activities, and markets events. She has been working on a Spring Bulletin Board and processing materials.
