I. PROGRAMS
a. LEGO Club met on 1/8 and 10 kids used design thinking and problem solving skills to build and create.
b. 55 parents, caregivers, and kids came to the library on 1/21 for our Toddler Play Date. Kids played with
Duplos, created with stamps, and got energy out with stepping stones and a tunnel. Adults were excited
about the program and interested in knowing when the next play date was scheduled.
c. The Works Museum taught 14 kids about electricity and circuit building through hands on activities at
STEAM Saturday on 1/25.
d. Family Storytime goers learned about taking care of their teeth with the help of Tracy from Anoka
County Child and Teen Wellness Checkups on 1/27. Kids left with a toothbrush, toothpaste, and timer.
e. Teen volunteer hours total 8 hours this month.

II. COLLECTION
a. Book orders placed this month include: Growing Minds 8/19 and 9/19, Booklist 8/19, Replacements and
Adds.
b. Weeding of EJ fiction is complete. Weeding of E fiction has begun.
III. PROJECTS
a. Finalized summer programming.
b. Planned for spring early literacy space.
c. Organized teen volunteer records.
d. Added spring programming to LibCal.
e. Prepared for and led January Toddler Play Date.
f. Created January book displays.
g. Prepared for Lead Wizards training.
h. Finalized Spring Heights Happenings content.
i. Prepared Farrah’s review.
j. Prepared for February’s Teen Service Day.
k. Prepared for February’s Graphic Novel Book Club.
l. Managed teen volunteers.
IV. GRANTS, MEETINGS, COMMUNITY
a. 1/8: Met with Zach Robinson, executive director of Spark-Y to discuss possible partnership around
community garden project.
b. 1/13: 21CCLC Advisory Meeting
c. 1/14: ISD 13 2nd Grade Family Literacy Night at the library. 35 caregivers and 2nd graders came to the
library to connect with their reading teachers and learn about library resources.
d. 1/23: 21CCLC Shared Partners Meeting
e. 1/29: 21CCLC Youth Advisory Planning Meeting
V. STAFF
a. Kelly Olson worked on book orders. She also fulfilled the many bulk loan bins we had this month. She
completed her usual tasks including month end reports, performer contracts, magazines, counting
money, receiving books, and purchase requests. Additionally, she helps with volunteen supervision, and
ICS visits.
b. Farrah Briest took over LEGO Club duties. She also helps with ICS visits, cleans toys, develops and
maintains teen passive activities, maintains early literacy activities, and markets events. She has been
working on a Black History Month Display and Spring Early Literacy Activities.
