I. PROGRAMS
a. Tech Wizards started up for the school year with a few changes. This year we have 3 Lead Wizards
which are youth who aged out of the program but are now back to lead younger youth in icebreakers,
STEAM Activities, and reflections. This added youth leadership piece has been a great addition to the
program. Youth voted on project ideas and will be creating films this year.
b. LEGO Club met on Wednesday, October 9th. Youth used engineering skills, problem solving, and design
thinking to build their unique LEGO creations.
c. We offered two programs over MEA Weekend: Scary Stories and Purposeful Patch. One offered a
chance to use your imagination through writing and reading and the other was an opportunity to use
creativity while learning how to embroider.
d. The Bakken Museum presented “Finding Frankenstein” an interactive science program at the library on
Saturday, October 26th with 34 people in attendance. Participants were invited to visit interactive
activity stations after the performance. The Bakken instructors enjoyed their experience at the library
so much that they nominated us to be a recipient of a free 2-day summer camp.
e. We currently have 1 teen volunteer at the library. Teen volunteer hours total 4 hours this month.
