A resolution of the City Council for the City of Columbia Heights, Minnesota, establishing a Lead Records
Technician position and a Special Projects and Events Coordinator position and authorizing both positions
be filled immediately
Whereas, with the retirement of the previous City Manager the Human Resources position was restructured in
January of 2019 to provide resources in the Administration Department to create and hire for a full time
Special Projects and Events Coordinator position; and
Whereas, the Special Projects and Events Coordinator position will provide for increased and improved
community programs and communications; and
Whereas, in early 2019 the completed Public Safety Staffing Study was presented to staff and the City Council;
and
Whereas, due to workload and succession planning needs the Public Safety Staffing Study recommended the
creation of a full time Lead Records Technician position within the Police Department.
Now therefore, be it resolved that the position of Lead Records Technician is hereby created within the Police
Department.
Be it further resolved that the position of Special Projects and Events Coordinator is hereby created within the
Administration Department.
Be it further resolved that the City Council hereby authorizes both positions to be filled immediately.
