I. BUILDING MAINTENANCE AND EQUIPMENT
A. An LED monument sign was installed and fully operational by month end. I completed
online and in-person training to create content.
II. TECHNOLOGY
A. Un upgrade to the Sirsi-Dynix operating system was installed on November 20.
III. COLLECTION
A. Adult book selections were made from the August and September issues of Booklist,
Kirkus Reviews, and Library Journal. Adult fiction paperbacks, large print, and fiction
with November and December publication dates were ordered. Juvenile selections were
made from the July or August issues of Booklist, Growing Minds, and School Library
Journal. Replacement copies of worn juvenile titles and new easy readers were added.
DVDs and adult audiobooks were also ordered.
B. Weeding in the adult mysteries continued. Weeding in easy readers was completed;
weeding of EJ fiction was begun.
IV. PROGRAMS
A. A National Novel Writing Month Write-In was held on November 3.
B. Scrabble Club for adults was held on November 6 and 20.
C. Senior Surf was held on November 7.
D. A “Notes of Gratitude” writing event was offered with the City Senior program on
November 7.
E. The Library Board met on November 7.
F. Head Start classes visited the Library on November 7 and 14.
G. A Craft Lab, funded by the 21CCLC grant, was held on November 8.
H. A Rock’n’Roll Felt crafting program for teens was offered on November 9.
I. Open to Business consultant Kathleen DuChene was available on November 13.
J. A Meditation Program for adults was held on November 13.
K. The Friends of the Library met on November 14.
L. LEGO Challenge for kids was offered on November 14.
M. A Science Saturday event featuring Wargo Nature Center was held on November 17.

N. A Toddler Dance Party was held on November 19.
O. The Graphic Novel book club (21CCLC) was offered at Columbia Academy on November
20.
P. The adult Book Club discussed “The Martian” by Andy Weir on November 21.
Q. The Teen Advisory Board met for the last time on November 28.
R. Two sessions of Family Storytime were offered on November 5.
S. Three sessions of Baby Read, Baby Grow were offered on Thursday mornings.
T. Three classes from the Immaculate Conception School visited the library.
U. Two sessions of 4-H Tech Wizards were offered in partnership with University of
Minnesota Extension staff.
V. Four sessions of 90th Birthday Card creation were held on Tuesday afternoons.
W. “Buddy Up and Read” volunteers met with adults learning English.
X. English Conversation Circles for adult learners were offered on four Thursday afternoons
and two Monday evenings.
Y. Donations of youth books were collected for Project Bookshelf. Donations will be
distributed through S.A.C.A. at the Christmas, Hanukah, and Kwanzaa holidays.
Z. Deliveries of materials to At-Home patrons were made.
AA. Adult volunteers donated 62.5 hours of service; teens volunteers donated 5 hours.
V. STAFF
A. Youth Services Librarian Bri Belanger hosted a Community Night at the Library in
coordination with ECFE on November 19.
B. Adult Services Librarian Cortni O’Brien created a PowerPoint presentation of library
history which was presented during the 90th Anniversary Open House.
VI. FOUNDATION
A. The Foundation met on November 21 to craft guidelines for making annual donations. A
$35,000 gift was presented to the Library.
VII. MISC
A. I met with the city manager and department heads on November 5, 19, and 26.
B. I attended a LibCal informational planning session on November 6.
C. I prepared a letter to the City Council supporting the appointment of Kelli Bourgeois as
City Manager and attended a special Council meeting on November 15.
D. I met with the Management Team of the Anoka County Library on November 15.
