I. PROGRAMS
a. The Friends of the Library offered a birthday card craft Tuesdays after school this month.
b. 10 teens attended this month’s Craft Lab and learned how to make their own fidget spinners and stress
balls.
c. Textile Center offered a wet felting program that was attended by 8 youth. Each youth left with a
keychain.
d. 25 kids and caregivers displayed creativity, problem solving, and design thinking at this month’s LEGO
Challenge.
e. Wargo Nature Center presented on reptiles and amphibians at our STEAM Saturday event. 51 youth
and caregivers learned how to tell the difference between the two and got to see a real turtle and
snake!
f. We celebrated the end of our Fall Storytime session with a Toddler Dance Party. 121 kids and their
caregivers came to the library to dance to storytime favorites mixed with some family friendly pop songs
for the grownups. Dancing and movement is not only fun, but it also helps develop motor skills,
rhythm, balance, and listening skills.
g. Graphic Novel Club met on 11/20. The group is growing and we look forward to moving forward with
our new members.
h. The Teen Advisory Board will meet for the last time this month. We have had low attendance and
participation for the past year and are moving toward a Youth Advisory Council in partnership with the
school district and parks and rec. This opportunity will be presented to those who would like to
continue with the program.
