HomeMy WebLinkAbout2019-04RESOLUTION NO. 2019 -04 A resolution of the City Council for the City of Columbia Heights, Minnesota, approving a collective bargaining agreement between the City of Columbia Heights and International Union of Operating Engineers, Local 49 — Maintenance Workers, Mechanic, and Forepersons Whereas, negotiations have proceeded between International Union of Operating Engineers, Local No. 49, representing Maintenance Workers, Mechanic, and Forepersons of the City, and members of the City's negotiation team; and Whereas, said negotiations have resulted in a mutually acceptable collective bargaining agreement for calendar years 2019 through 2021; and Whereas, changes to the current agreement are hereby attached as Exhibit A, and a copy of said collective bargaining agreement is available for inspection at the Office of the City Manager and is made a part hereof by reference. Now therefore, be it resolved that the collective bargaining agreement as negotiated, be and is hereby established as the salary and fringe benefit program for calendar years 2019 through 2021 for International Union of Operating Engineers, Local No. 49, bargaining unit employees of the City; and Be it further resolved that the Mayor and City Manager are hereby authorized to execute this collective bargaining agreement. Wages: Cost of Living Adjustments: 1/1/19: 3% Increase ( +.30 Market Adjustment for Maintenance Workers and Mechanic) 1/1/20: 3% Increase ( +.30 Market Adjustment for Maintenance Workers and Mechanic) 1/1/21: 3% Increase Increase employer matching contribution to deferred compensation from $425 per year to $450 per year effective 1/1/19. Insurance: 2019: No Change. 2020: Increase Employer contribution to insurance from $895 to $925. Additional $50 contribution to those taking family health insurance. 2021: Increase employer contribution to insurance from $925 to $955. Additional $50 contribution to those taking family health insurance. 2019 -2021: Increase amount employer pays into deferred compensation for employees waiving health insurance from $200 to $250. Uniforms: Incorporate language regarding establishment of a uniform committee. The City reserves the right to add to, modify, delete, and /or change any portion of this proposal at anytime during the negotiation process.
