I. Adult Programs and Displays
a. Seniors’ book club met on Wednesday, August 1 at Murzyn Hall to discuss “The Readers
of Broken Wheel Recommend” by Katarina Bivald. Four adults participated.
b. Scrabble Club, sponsored by the Friends of the Library, met August 7 and 21. Total
attendance for August was 14 adults.
c. Conversation Circles for adult English language learners met once a week, on Thursdays
from 1 to 2 p.m., facilitated by an adult library volunteer.
d. Three “Buddy Up and Read” partners met a total of 7 times to practice their English
language reading and speaking skills.
e. The Library Book Club met on Wednesday, August 15, to discuss "Just Mercy" by Bryan
Stevenson. Twelve adults participated.
f. Four deliveries were made to At-Home Patrons.
II. Meetings
a. Cortni met with a potential adult/ESL volunteer.
b. Cortni attended the city division head meeting while Renee on vacation.
III. Projects
a. Orders were placed for office supplies and DVDs.
IV. Other
a. Nine adult volunteers donated 34 hours to the library, working with adult English Language
learners through Buddy Up and Read and Conversation Circles programs, delivering books
and other materials to At-Home Patrons, and performing miscellaneous tasks at the library.
