PROGRAMS a. Bulk loans of materials were prepared for ICS, Adventure Club, and Mini Adventures. b. LEGO Club met on 5/9 and 8 kids spent the hour creating and building. Kids are learning social emotional skills like cooperating, sharing, and teamwork as well as valuable engineering skills. c. ICS students visited the library on 5/14 and 5/16. d. Tech Wizards hosted a Film Festival on 5/22. This was a chance to celebrate the work that the teens did this session and to watch their completed films. e. Teens volunteered a total of 7 hours this month. f. COLLECTION a. Book orders were placed from the following: SLJ 1/18; Booklist 2/1 and 2/15, Growing Minds 2/18 and Summer Reading Fill, Board Books, Early Readers and Spanish Language. b. Weeding of juvenile and easy nonfiction continues. III. PROJECTS a. Prepared summer reading forms and sent to printer. b. Prepared reading program supplies and signage. c. Created Volunteen Binder d. Created early literacy environments and teen passive activities for summer. e. Maintained and prepared spring and summer book displays. f. Contacted and met with potential summer volunteers. g. Managed Teen Volunteers. h. Trained staff on summer lunch program. i. Purchased summer prize books at Scholastic Book Fair. j. Created TAB agenda. IV. GRANTS, MEETINGS, COMMUNITY a. 5/7: Summer lunch training b. 5/7: Active Shooter training V. STAFF a. This month the major projects page staff worked on are as follows: selection tools, processing, and various cutting projects. b. Kelly Olson worked on book orders. She also fulfilled the many bulk loan bins we had this month. She completed her usual tasks including month end reports, performer contracts, magazines, counting money, receiving books, and purchase requests. Kelly was also trained on summer lunch program and will help run the program this summer.
