I. PROGRAMS
a. Bulk loans of materials were prepared for ICS, Adventure Club, and Mini Adventures.
b. 23 parents and kids joined us at our Family Night event on 2/7. This month we focused on science. Our
story taught us about the scientific method and then we put what we learned into use as we explored
our activity stations creating slime and potions.
c. Early Reader Club met two more times in February. We practiced sight words and comprehension
through stories, games, and art.
d. ArtStart presented Beads and Bangles on Friday, 2/9 to 12 excited students. Kids used recycled
materials to create necklaces, bracelets and more.
e. LEGO Club met on 2/14 and 7 kids spent the hour creating and building. Kids are learning social
emotional skills like cooperating, sharing, and teamwork as well as valuable engineering skills.
f. Teens celebrated Valentine’s Day and the release of Black Panther on 2/14. 15 teens participated in
trivia, decorated cookies, and created superhero themed valentines.
g. TAB met on 2/17 to discuss a spring community service project and work on the annual March Madness
book bracket.
h. 51 Toddlers and their caregivers participated in our first toddler obstacle course. This not only gave
parents and kids a chance to connect, but also a chance to work on gross motor skills while playing
which are important in early childhood development.
i. ICS students visited the library on 2/21.
j. 22 kids had a chance to practice their reading skills while reading to Tanner and Ladybug at READ Dogs.
READ Dogs provides a judgment free, low-stress, opportunity to get practice and help reading.
k. Maker Club met on 2/28 and 15 kids designed and raced paper boats while learning about the forces
and principles that keep boats floating.
