COLLECTION PROJECTS A. Magazines: Magazine labels were typed for newly received magazines. B. Damaged Shelf: Items older than 1 month were cleared from the shelf this month. C. Paperback order: One paperback order has been sent this month. D. Paperback Display: There was no room for a paperback display this month because of our New Books, Road Trip, and Beach Read displays. E. Weeding Projects: Renee is going through fiction and giving me books to withdraw semiregularly Bri is also giving me children’s books to withdraw semiregularly. F. Last copy/withdrawn items: We no longer get a Last Copy list each week but we are still weeding and withdrawing items. Books are withdrawn from the system each week and are placed in a box to go to Better World Books if they are accepted by the company. II. MAINTENANCE A. Fire extinguisher: The fire extinguishers were checked Wednesday, July 26th. B. Security gates: Security gates were checked twice daily to record the gatecount. C. Public Works: This month, Eric Hanson from Public Works was here periodically to check on the SW entrance door because it has not been locking and unlocking correctly. He was here to fix the air conditioning which went out on Saturday, July 22nd. III. MISCELLANEOUS A. ILL Drawer: The ILL drawers were maintained and a weekly count of filled requests has been kept. B. Month End Statistics: The statistics for the previous month will be totaled and sent out to staff by Friday, August 4th C. Bulletin Board: Old notices are removed once they have expired or been up for thirty days and new notices are put up as we receive them. D. Shelf Reading: Shelf reading was not completed again this month. The same assignments will be kept for next month and the pages will be reminded to spend time on it during each shift. There is a new, simplified shelf-reading sheet for pages. Volunteens are responsible for shelf reading the youth area of the library this summer. E. Website and Facebook: Periodic updates of both Facebook and the Webpage were completed. The front page of the website shows ongoing events such as Conversation Circles as well as special events like Bookawocky and Author Talks.
