Subject: November Operational Report

I. PROGRAMS
a. Bulk loans of materials were prepared for ICS, Adventure Club, and Mini Adventures.
b. Tech Wizards continued to meet throughout the month of November. Participants are working on
creating a 3-10 minute film. On November 28th, we hosted a film festival where friends and family could
view the progress students made on their films.
c. LEGO Club met on 11/8 and 10 kids spent the hour creating and building. Kids are learning social
emotional skills like cooperating, sharing, and teamwork as well as valuable engineering skills.
d. ICS students visited the library on 11/6, 11/27, and 11/29.
e. We held our second READ Dogs session on Monday, November 13. 6 children had a chance to read to
Tanner, an Australian Shepherd mix.
f. 26 preschoolers and toddlers came to Block Party on Monday, 11/20. Kids learned early math and
science skills as well as important social and emotional skills while they built with blocks!
g. 12 kids learned about animal biology and created their own aliens out of recyclable materials at the
11/29 Maker Club.

II. COLLECTION
a. Book orders were placed from the following selection tools: SLJ 8/17. Orders were also placed in the
following areas: replacements and adds and graphic novels, spoken word, and music cds.
b. Weeding of J graphic, EJ audio, EJ Fiction and E Reader was completed this month. Weeding of Easy
Fiction has begun.
III. PROJECTS
a. Created and implemented Winter bulletin board.
b. Created winter program fliers
c. Created and implemented Winter early literacy activities
d. Created and implemented Winter book displays.
e. Prepped for Maker Club session.
f. Prepped for Family Night.
g. Prepared TAB agenda.
h. Imputed winter programs into evanced.
i. Trained and managed two new teen volunteers.
j. Planned and prepped for winter stoyrtimes.
k. Planned and prepped for winter tinkerspace program.
IV. GRANTS, MEETINGS, COMMUNITY
a. 11/1: Gave library tour to homeschool family.
b. 11/1: Visited ECFE classroom to speak to 15 parents and toddlers about the library and provide a short
storytime.
c. 11/7: Head Start classes visited today. I spoke to 34 preschoolers about the library and provided a
storytime.
d. 11/13: Attended open enrollment meeting.
e. 11/14: Head Start classes visited again. I spoke with 32 preschoolers about the library and provided a
storytime.
f. 11/15: Attended safety training.
V. STAFF
a. This month the major projects page staff worked on are as follows: selection tools, processing, and
various cutting projects.
b. Kelly Olson worked on book orders. She also fulfilled the many bulk loan bins we had this month. She
completed her usual tasks including month end reports, performer contracts, magazines, counting
money, receiving books, and purchase requests.
