Adult Programs and Displays a. Featured book displays for adults included a Minnesota State Fair display with giveaway fair maps and event programs provided by the State Fair, and transportation guides provided by MetroTransit. b. Scrabble Club met August 1 and 15 c. Conversation Circles for adult English language learners met once a week, on Wednesdays from 1 to 2 p.m., facilitated by two adult library volunteers. d. Two “Buddy Up and Read” partners met a total of 6 times to practice their English language reading and speaking skills. e. Senior Surf for Adults 55+ was held on Wednesday, August 2. Six adults attended the class, which offered hands-on computer experience with help from representatives of the Senior Linkage Line and the Metropolitan Area Agency on Aging. f. The Library Book Club met on Wednesday, August 16, to discuss "Beautiful Ruin" by Jess Walter. Twelve adults participated. g. Three deliveries were made to At-Home Patrons. II. Meetings a. Cortni spoke to the senior center’s bingo club about the Senior Surf and At Home Delivery programs during their visit to the library on August 7. b. Cortni met with Tim Peters, Minitx representative. c. Cortni met with a potential adult/ESL volunteer. III. Projects a. Orders were placed for adult books on cd, music cds, office supplies, book processing supplies, banker’s boxes, and earbuds. IV. Other a. Nine adult volunteers donated 43 hours to the library, assisting with programs, working with adult English Language learners through Buddy Up and Read and Conversation Circles programs, delivering books and other materials to At-Home Patrons, and performing miscellaneous tasks at the library. b. Cortni was introduced to the Library Board on August 2, and to the City Council on August 28.
