I. PROGRAMS
a. LEGO Club met on December 8th. 12 kids built LEGO creations that were later displayed in
the library for the month.
b. ICS classes visited on 12/7 and 12/16.
c. TAB met on December 17th to talk about volunteer opportunities and how to recruit new
members.
d. On Wednesday, December 28th, Maker Club met. 16 kids and parents participated in a
marble run building challenge. They broke into 5 groups and used household materials
and recyclables to create their runs.
e. We rang in the New Year a bit early this year at the library. Over 100 parents and kids
came to celebrate with stories, songs, crafts, a balloon drop and an apple juice toast!

II. COLLECTION
a. Book orders were placed from the following selection tools: Kirkus 5/15/16.
b. Weeded easy picture books A-M.
III. PROJECTS
a. Prepared programs for December.
b. Prepared for and advertised Noon Year’s Eve
c. Began spring and summer program planning.
d. Prepared Bulk Loans for ICS and Adventure Club.
e. Updated bulletin board for winter quarter.
f. Prepared Spring Heights Happenings.
IV. GRANTS, MEETINGS, COMMUNITY
a. 12/8: Attended Anoka County Library’s Summer Reading Summit to discuss
options for next summer.
b. 12/9: Attended MELSA’s Story Palooza and learned new ways to incorporate music
in storytime.
V. STAFF
a. This month the major projects page staff worked on are as follows: selection tools,
shelving, withdrawing, processing, and cleaning up the kids area.
b. Kelly Olson worked on book orders. She completed her usual tasks including month end
reports, magazines, counting money, bulk loans, receiving books, and purchase requests.
