Adult Programs and Displays a. Adult book displays include “New Books” and “Baby, It’s Cold Outside.” b. A volunteer (Friends of the Library) set up a winter seasonal display in the glass display case. c. Eleven adults learned to make hard cover screw post journals or sketch pads at a two-hour class taught by and instructor from Minnesota Book Arts and funded by the Minnesota Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund. d. Eight adults learned to make Polish folk art ornaments in a two-hour class taught by an instructor from the Polish American Cultural Institute of Minnesota. e. Two “Buddy Up and Read” partners met a total of six times to practice their English language reading and speaking skills. f. Conversation Circles for adult English language learners met twice a week, on Wednesdays and Thursdays from 1 to 2 p.m., facilitated by three adult library volunteers. g. Scrabble Club, sponsored by the Friends of the Library, met twice, on December 6 and 20. h. The Library Book Club met on Wednesday, December 14, for their holiday party. i. Deliveries were made to At-Home Patrons. j. Spring program planning was underway. II. Meetings a. Barb met with the Friends of the Library on Wednesday, Dec. 14. III. Projects a. The Friends of the Library delivered to SACA, 207 new, donated books for children and teens, as part of Anoka County’s Project Bookshelf. IV. Other a. Eleven adult volunteers donated 43 hours to the library, working with adult English Language learners, delivering materials to At-Home Patrons, working as computer tutors, creating displays and performing miscellaneous tasks at the library.
