HomeMy WebLinkAboutOperational Report for Brianna Belanger City of Columbia Heights | [z,©©ä th 820 40 Ave NE Ph: 763-706-3690 -706-3691 www.columbiaheightsmn.gov št Renee Dougherty, Library Director C©š’t Brianna Belanger, {Ò,†;-·t May Operational Report 5·;t May 26, 2016 I.PROGRAMS a.Bulk loans of materials were prepared for Adventure Club and Mini-Adventure Club. b.Classes from ICS visited on 5/17, 5/18, 5/20, and 5/23. c.LEGO Club was popular as always. 19 kids attended this month. d.On 5/17, families came together to say farewell to the library and had a morning celebration with stories and crafts that 40 people attended and an evening celebration with games, crafts, and trivia that 57 peopl e.We cancelled our regularly scheduled Teen Advisory Board meeting spring activities. f.Program counts are as follows: LEGO Club 5/12/2016 19 Farewell Library Party 10 a.m. 5/17/2016 40 ICS-4th Grade Visit 5/17/2016 13 Farewell Library Party 4 p.m. 5/17/2016 57 ICS-3rd Grade Visit 5/18/2016 14 ICS-1st and 2nd Grade Visits 5/20/2016 26 II.COLLECTION a.Book orders were placed from the following selection tools: Kirkus 11/1/15, 11/15/15, 12/1/15 , 12/15/15, 1/1/16; Booklist 11/1/15, 11/15/15, 12/1/15, 12/15/15 and School Library Journal 12/15, 1/16. Orders were also placed in the following areas: replacements and adds, manga, and summer reading fill. b.Helped weed adult nonfiction this month. III.PROJECTS a.Planned, advertised and delivered Farewell Celebration. b.Prepared for and performed visits to advertise summer reading pr schools. c.Coordinated summer teen volunteers and prepared training materia d.Printed summer reading event calendars, bookmarks, and reading l e.Submitted summer events calendar to printer. f.Added all summer events to Evanced on library website. g.Prepared book talks for Global Academy and ICS Middle School visit. h.Planned and performed storytime for Head Start Visits. i.Planned and created summer early literacy and teen passive activ j.Planned and packed for move. k.Began planning fall programming. Page 2 IV.GRANTS, MEETINGS, COMMUNITY a. b.5/10: Visited Columbia Academy English classes and cafeteria to advertise the summer reading program (approximately 150 students c.5/11: Visited Head Start to talk about summer reading, share sto out free books from Once Upon a Reader program. (68 kids) d.5/16 & 5/18: Visited Global Academy grades K-6 to talk about the summer reading program (approximately 340 students). e.5/23: Visited Highland Elementary grades K-5 to talk about the summer reading program (approximately 525 students). f.5/25: Visited Immaculate Conception School grades 5-8 to talk about the summer reading program (approximately 50 students). g.5/31: Visited North Park Elementary grades K-5 to talk about the summer reading program (approximately 483 students). V.STAFF a.This month the major projects page staff worked on are as follows: selection tools, processing, and preparing for move. b.Kelly Olson worked on book orders and magazines. She also assisted in the many bulk loan bins we had this month. She completed her usual tasks incl reports, magazines, counting money, receiving books, and purchas c.Michelle Wermerskirchen created fliers for summer programs, finished the summer events calendar, assisted with materials for Farwell Party, and
