HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution 1981-4RESOLUTION 81-4 RESOLUTION REGARDING ORDINANCE NO. 948, BEING AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 853, CITY CODE OF 1977, PERTAINING TO THE ESTABLISHMENT OF A MORE RESTRICTIVE SIGN CODE. WHEREAS, the Planning and Zoning Commission, observing the proliferation of signage and lack of control thereof in the City, made a motion on December 2, 1975 to form a committee for the expressed purpose of formulating a new sign code to further the interests of business and the general welfare of the community, and WHEREAS, the sign code committee being formed, diligently spent many months formulating a draft sign code for presentation and review to the Planning and Zoning Commission and City Council, and WHEREAS, the Planning and Zoning Commission, under the direction of the City CounCil, has reviewed, amended and finalized a proposed new sign code, Ordinance No. 948. THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, the Planning and Zoning Commission does hereby forward and recommend to the City Council the adoption of Ordinance No. 948, being an ordinance amending Ordinance No. 853, City Code of 1977, pertaining to the establishment of a more restrictive sign code.
