Tantanella Member at Large To: Renee Dougherty, Library Director Gary Peterson From: Brianna Belanger, Council Liaison Renee Dougherty Subject: December Operational Report Library Director Date: December 29, 2015 I.PROGRAMS a.Bulk loans of materials were prepared for ICS (1 bin for each of 6 classes). b.Classes from ICS visited on 12/1, 12/2, and 12/4. c.Teen Advisory Board (TAB) met on 12/7. Three people attended the meeting. We did some getting-to-know-you activities and discussed program ideas. Teens worked on a winter bulletin board display. d.LEGO Club took place on 12/10. 1 teen built creations out of LEGO bricks. e.Star Wars invaded the library on 12/18. Families stopped by thro make Yoda ears, fold Darth Paper origami and participate in an I Spy with my Jedi scavenger hunt. 30 families, kids, and teens participated in this event. f.Make and Take Crafts kicked off on Tuesday 12/29. Families coul make a reindeer craft and [insert number] families from babies t g.Teens celebrated their inner geek on Wednesday, 12/30 with the Fandom Celebration. We played geeky scattergories and bingo and made duct tape bowti 7 teens came to this program. h. We had a storytime followed by crafts and games. We counted down to noon and used o party poppers, balloons dropping from the ceiling, and an apple juice toast t 50 people, from babies to grandparents, attended this program! i.Program counts are as follows: Children's Program Program Date Attend. III.PROJECTS a.Prepared programs for December and January. b.Prepared outline of program dates for January through August 201 c.Planned and advertised d.Created TAB agenda. e.Planned storytimes for January through February. f.Prepared materials and prizes for winter reading program. g.Contacted three Wacky Wednesday performers for summer reading program. h.Planned early literacy environments and teen passive programming IV.GRANTS, MEETINGS, COMMUNITY a.12/8: Attended ACCFE Grant Meeting @ Woodcrest Elementary b.12/9: Attended Highland EL Family Night. 45 people were in attendance. c.12/16: Attended Early Literacy Team Meeting @ LSS V.STAFF a.This month the major projects page staff worked on are as follows: selection tools, various program prep projects, withdrawing materials, and proces b.Kelly Olson worked on book, audio, and music CD orders. She also assisted in the many bulk loan bins we had this month. She completed her usual tasks reports, magazines, counting money, receiving books, and purchas c.Michelle Wermerskirchen planned make & take crafts for the winter reading program and sent out press releases for upcoming programs.
