Tantanella Member at Large Gary Peterson TO: Renee Dougherty, Library Director Council Liaison FROM: Barb Kondrick, Adult Services Librarian Renee Dougherty Library Director SUBJECT: Adult Services June 2015 Operational Report DATE: June 29, 2015 I.Adult Programs and Displays a.The main floor lobby area contains an architectural drawings of the interior and exterior of the new building, floor plans, a site plan and a 3D model of the immediate area. b. c.Library Friends submitted forms describing volunteer projects by the Friends and library included Buddy Up and Read, Conversation Circles, Central Avenue Cleanup and Friends assistance with Wacky Wednesday programs for kids. d.Four adults attended Senior Surf, a hands-on computer training class designed for people 55+ on Wednesday, June 3. e.The Nonfiction Book Club met Friday, June 19. Six adults attended. f.The Library Book Club met Wednesday, June 24, The Rosie ProjectGraeme Simsion. g.Seventeen adult volunteers worked 43 ½ hours in June. Tasks included delivering materials to at-home patrons, facilitating Conversation Circles and the Nonfiction Book Club, serving as Reading Buddies for adults learning English, serving as computer tutors, assisting with programs, greeting visitors before and completing various tasks in the library. h.Five at-home patrons checked out a total of 55 items, delivered by volunteers and staff. Meetings II. a.The Library Board met Wednesday, June 3. b.The Friends of the Library met Wednesday, June 3. c.The Foundation met Wednesday, June 3. d.Barb attended an ACL Older Adults Programing Team meeting via phone on June 24 to help plan programming for ACL and COH libraries. III.Projects a.Weeding continues for music CDs. b.Orders were placed for library supplies and DVDs. c.Staff and volunteers, including Barbara Tantanella (Library Board member) and Jane Polley (Foundation and Friends member) and Carrie Magnuson (Friends member) greeted community members and provided some fun activities for kids and adults attending the Jamboree Parade on Friday, June 26.
