COLLECTION PROJECTS
I.
A.Magazines: Magazine labels were typed for newly received magazines.
B.Damaged Shelf: The Damaged shelf was cleared of items which were 3 months or
older on February 24, 2014.
C.Paperbacks: Paperback orders were checked against the system for hits. Entries
with hits were selected by the Library Director to order. A paperback order was
completed May 29, 2014.
D.Paperback Display: This month’s theme was “Not your ordinary librarian”. Stories
that prominently featured a librarian.
E. Weeding projects: Romance paperback weeding is completed. Mysteries will be
weeded next. CD weeding has been completed up to 781.65 MET; books on CD have
been completed up to CD FIC T.
MISCELLANEOUS
II.
A.ILL Drawer: The ILL drawers were maintained and a weekly count of filled requests
has been kept.
B.Month End Statistics: The statistics for the previous month were totaled and then
distributed to staff for their records and/or use.
C.Bulletin Board: The Bulletin board was maintained and cleaned this month.
D.Shelf Reading: Lists generated for the Pages to write their progress down from shelf
reading were made this month.
E. Website and Facebook: The website now has 2013’s Annual Report, Summer events
posted and the link to Services was corrected from linking to OverDrive to linking to
Services. Facebook statistics generated and periodic postings made to the site.
MAINTENANCE
III.
A.Fire extinguishers: Fire extinguishers were serviced May 7, 2014.
B.Security gates: Security gate filters were cleaned May 29th.

C.Elevator: May 9 there was water pouring into the pit; the elevator light was
th
replaced the week of May 12.
D.Help Desk: Help desk tickets for the HP Laser jet 4050N is now working.
E. Carpet and mat cleaning: The floor mats were picked up May 13 and returned May
th
27, carpet and some upholstery (cloth folding chairs and some chairs from the west
room and children’s department) were cleaned on May 15.
