HomeMy WebLinkAboutOperational Report for Bethany To: Renee Dougherty, Library Director From: Bethany Grabow, Children’s Librarian Subject: December Operational Report Date: December 23, 2013 I.PROGRAMS th a.Bulk loans of materials were prepared for ICS for Prek, Kindergarten, 1, 2, and 5 grade classrooms, Adventure Club, and Mini Adventures. b.Classes from ICS visited on 12/2, 12/4, 12/5, and 12/11. c.We had a special family storytime on 12/10. Orders were also placed in the following areas: replacements and adds. b.Weeding of YA hardback fiction was completed 12/23/13. III.PROJECTS a.Prepared materials for Book Warms winter reading program including reading log, signage, make & take craft planning, and Book Battles YA voting displays. b.Prepared Youth Read Down materials. IV.GRANTS, MEETINGS, COMMUNITY a.12/3: Met with Early Literacy Team to discuss goals for early literacy at ACL libraries in 2014. b.12/6: Met with other ACL youth staff to plan for summer reading program and choose MELSA performers. c.12/12: Attended Community Baby Shower at the Family Center. Talked to 13 new parents about storytime and other library early literacy resources. d.12/15: Attended library fundraiser at the Heights Theater. e.12/20: Performed a snow-themed storytime for over 50 preschoolers and their parents at the Family Center. V.STAFF a.This month the major projects page staff worked on are as follows: putting out books for new and thematic displays and signing up youth for Book Warms and Youth Read Down. b.Kelly Olson worked on massive end-of-year book and audiobook orders. Kelly also assisted in the many bulk loan bins we had this month. She completed her usual tasks including month end reports, magazines, counting money, receiving books, and purchase requests. c.Michelle Wermerskirchen worked on materials for the Youth Read Down, put up three bulletin boards, and worked on materials for Winter Jackets.
