HomeMy WebLinkAboutOperational Report for Barb TO: Renee Dougherty, Library Director FROM: Barb Kondrick SUBJECT: Adult Services August Operational Report DATE: September 3, 2013 I.Programs a.The Library Book Club met Wednesday, August 28, and discussed “Wild” by Cheryl Strayed. Fifteen adults participated. II.Collection Development a.Orders for adult music CDs, children and adult DVDs and adult audiobooks were placed this month. III.Projects a.Item Barcodes were ordered through Minitex. b.At Home Service: Barb selected materials and set up deliveries for four at-home patrons. Letters were sent out to at-home patrons who have not requested deliveries for the past few months. c.Barb discussed “Buddy Up and Read” with teachers from Adult Basic Education and arranged for library tours for their classes. d.Contacted MAAA (Metropolitan Area Agency on Aging) to discuss the feasibility of scheduling a Senior Surf Day at the library and other library programs designed specifically for seniors. e.Barb started providing AskMN online reference service. She will provide online reference--to patrons throughout the United States--during one scheduled session every other week. f.2013 IRS Tax forms were ordered. IV.Volunteers a.A new volunteer applied to serve as a “Reading Friend” for Buddy Up and Read.
