HomeMy WebLinkAboutOperational Report for Renee To: Interim Director From: Renee Dougherty, Adult Services Librarian Subject: July 2012 Operational Report Date: July 25, 2012 I.Programs a.At Home Service selected and delivered fifteen books to two patrons this month. b.One adult volunteer contributed two hours of service delivering materials to At Home patrons. c.Fifteen adults participated in the Book Club discussion of The Catcher in the Rye by J.D. Salinger. Discussion was led by group member Laura Fix. II.Collection Development a.I placed an order for DVDs with Baker and Taylor. The order focused on collection development in Non-Fiction 600s for adults, children’s videos, and adult feature films. b.An order for adult audiobooks was placed with Books on Tape/Random House. III.Projects a.Weeding was completed for adult and juvenile videos in sections DVD K and DVD 910-921. b.The slat wall display featured fiction and non-fiction books and DVDs on walking under a quote from poet Mary Oliver “Tell me what it is you plan to do you’re your one wild and precious life.” c.I attended Library Task Force meetings on July 9 and 23. d.With the outgoing director, I interviewed six candidates for library page. The two highest scoring candidates were given conditional offers of employment. Background checks were completed for both candidates. Orientation and training began July 27. e.I participated in the hearing for the proposed 2013 department budget with the Library Director, the City Manager, and the Director of Finance. f.Library staff celebrated the retirement of Becky Loader with a breakfast in her honor.
