Rebecca Loader, Library Director From: Ramon Gomez, Library Clerk Subject: January Operational Report Date: January 25, 2012 COLLECTION PROJECTS I. Magazines A.: Magazine labels were typed for newly received magazines. ACL Weeding: B. Last copies of materials within Workflows that Columbia Heights owns the last copy of were found and withdrawn. Others were then used on the Book Sale Cart. Weeding: C. General weeding of the nonfiction collection continued this month. Weeding of the adult audiobooks E-G and DVDs C-G was also completed this month. MAINTENANCE PROJECTS II. th Security Gates: A. Filters were cleaned on January 13. th Air Fresheners: B. Air Fresheners were replaced on January 13. th Fire Extinguishers: C. Fire extinguishers were checked on January 13. Public Works: D. Public Works was out this month to replace some burnt out light bulbs, repair the Adult Circulation Desk, and to fix a cabinet door in the Work room. Misc.Maintenance E. : Heights Electric was out this month to do electrical work on light fixtures. Quotes from R.W. Ceilings & Walls and Commercial Steam Team for painting the Board room and cleaning the YA hall carpeting respectively were received this month. Work will be completed both later this week and in early February. MISCELLANEOUS III. ILL Drawer: A. The ILL drawers were maintained and a weekly count of filled requests has been up kept. Paperback Display: B. A Paperback display featuring paperbacks of a holiday and romantic nature was maintained this month. Month End Statistics: C. The statistics for the previous month were totaled and then distributed to staff for their records and/or use. Bulletin Board: D.The Bulletin board was maintained and cleaned this month. Shelf Reading: E. Lists generated for the Pages to write their progress down from shelf reading were made this month. Year End: F. Statistics for the previous year including the Gate count, Program count, and ILL count where tallied up. These reports were sent to the Library Director, as well as other staff. rg
