I. PROGRAMS
a. Four Monday afternoon movies have been shown
i. Guardians of Gahoole 8/1: 13
ii. Tale of Desperaux 8/8: 17
iii. Chronicles of Narnia 8/15: 18
iv. Holes 8/22: 4
b. One Storytime session was held on 8/2 with Ten Penny Tunes 25 people in attended
c. The American Girl Tea Party was help on 8/10: 37 children attended
d. The last Wacky Wednesday was held on 8/3
e. Summer Reading Club for elementary and teen students ends on August 31
i. Elementary: 640
ii. Teen: 229
iii. Total: 869
f. The Bookmark Contest began on 8/1 and will end on 8/31 where the winner will be sent
to Anoka County.
g. Volunteen Recognition was held on 8/25. Five volunteens were present along with
siblings and parents. Three library board members were also present.
h. Read Dog and Baby Read Baby Grow materials have been put out and registration for
Read Dogs has already begun
II. PROJECTS
a. Weeding continues with the pages
b. Public works came in to help clean the floor near the emergency exit after rain caused
flooding there and beneath the book shelves. It took several days for everything to be
completely dry and the books were moved back into the previous locations
c. Volunteens continued with the easy book cleaning.
d. Due to the high traffic this summer, book repair and shelf maintenance were high
priorities.
e. The new internet terminal is functioning well and the print manager has helped keep
everything flowing smoothly in the department.
f. Immaculate Conception teachers signed up for the bulk loan and library visits.
III. STAFF
a. Pages helped create two new displays: “You Saw the Movie, Now Read the Book!” and
“School Rocks!” (Back to school)
b. Volunteens ended on 8/26.
i. Logged 486.5 hours total.
c. Library aide has continued to keep statistics for the Summer Reading Program, organize
booklists and various other projects over the summer.
d. Children’s clerk received three book orders in August.
COLLECTIONS
a. Three replacement orders were completed.
b. Orders were completed for Kirkus Reviews for 2/15/2011 and 3/1/2011 and Booklist for
2/15/2011 and 3/1/2011.
c. Weeding continued for J635 and E G for a total of 21 titles discarded.
