THIS AGREEMENT, made this 2 day of July, 2001, between the City of Columbia Heights,
Minnesota, part of the first part, hereinafter called the "City ", and, Phil Suckerman, part of the second
part, hereinafter known as the "Contractor ".
WITNESSETH: That the Contractor, for and in consideration of the payment or payments hereinafter
specified and by the City to be made at the time and in the manner as herein set forth, hereby
covenants and agrees to furnish services in the form of information, training, historic information,
assistance, and other services related to the Liquor Operations Manager position at the hourly rate of
$100.00 per hour, in semi - monthly installments as the work progresses based on the City's regular
council meeting dates, to be approved thus by the City Finance Director. Expenses will be reimbursed
as approved in advance by the Finance Director and based on actual cost supported receipts. All
payments will be on city expense checks with the Contractor responsible for all taxes. Total
compensation under this contract shall not exceed $15,000 plus pre- approved out -of- pocket expenses.
The Contractor also covenants and agrees that all said work and labor shall be done and performed in
the best and most professional manner and that all such materials and labor shall be in strict and entire
conformity with the request of the City Finance Director or the City Manager.
The City covenants and agrees that all requests will be made on a timely basis and that the Contractor
has the right of refusal of services for any request not so made. It is understood and agreed that
representatives of the City will provide the Contractor with all available information prior to the
Contractor beginning work. It is further understood and agreed that any requests for information
related to work to be performed by the Contractor will be available within thirty (30) working days of
request unless otherwise so agreed by the Contractor and the City Finance Director or the City
Manager.
It is understood and agreed that no claim for extra work done or materials furnished by the Contractor
will be allowed by the City except as provided herein, nor shall the Contractor do any work or furnish
any materials not covered by requests from the City Finance Director or the City Manager.
The general scope of this contract is for the Contractor to provide consulting services in training the
new Liquor Operations Manager, to review procedures with the Finance Director, and to provide
ongoing, overall evaluation of the liquor operation.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF: The said City of Columbia Heights, Minnesota, and said Phil Suckerman,
have hereunto set their hands and seals the day and year first above written.
