Mr Erickson is deaf and considered legally blind. Mr Erickson met with Fire Chief Gorman and myself prior to the Traffic Commission meeting in April. Mr Erickson’s concerns were the emergency vehicle strd traffic on 41 Avenue and the unsafe walking conditions on 43 Avenue due to traffic generated by the Rainbow Food store. Mr Erickson is requesting “Deaf/Blind Person” signs on stndrd 41 Avenue, 42 Avenue and 43 Avenue. The north south street adjacent to Columbia Court is a private street. City staff considers stnd “Deaf/Blind Person” signs on 41 Avenue and 42 Avenue appropriate.
