I. PROGRAMS
A. Two Sessions of Baby Read Baby Grow were held. This is collaboration between CHPL
and ECFE.
B. READ dog session resumed
C. Two after school films were shown and provided through Legacy funding
D. Classes from ICS visited the library during the week of September 20.
E. The first Bulk Loan of materials for the 2010-2011 school were prepared and picked up
by teachers
F. Two session of preschool storytime were held.
II. COLLECTION
A. One order for hardcover books was placed
B. YA collection was shifted and new shelf labels are being prepared
C. Weeding of the collection is behind schedule. Easy non fiction is complete from
beginning to end, J fiction should be complete through 399 (we are at 325), Fiction J and
YA is complete through S but Easy S still remains. Paperback weeding is underway but
not complete as of this date
III. GRANTS & COMMUNITY CONTACTS

A. I attend the first meeting of the 21 Century Advisory Board on September 22. The
Board received updates on summer programs provided through the grant. Items tabled
until next session included: Budget for 2010-2011, and the year end data report. Both
are awaiting input from MDE.
B. Two Purchase Reqs were prepared for printing and advertising of programs to be billed

to the 21 Century Grant in the next year.
C. I attended ELL family night and Open house at various schools with in the District and
th
am scheduled to attend for the very first time an ELL night at CHHS on October 7. I
will be demonstrating our online resources in the Media Center especially Homework
Rescue and BYKI.
D. I attended the Family Center Open house on September 9 and provided information on
library programs and the Foundation’s Spaghetti Dinner Fundraiser.
IV. PROJECTS
A. Staff is working on the next printing of the Library Events Calendar. The next issue will
include events scheduled from October through March of 2011.
B. Heights Happenings articles were prepared and submitted.
C. Staff is in the final stages of completing a catalog of our Storytime materials. The
project was started over the summer with the help of volunteers and when complete
should enable staff to locate materials, return them to their appropriate storage location
after use and simplify the preparation process.
D. Reorganization of the summer reading club supplies is underway.

E. Final statistics were submitted to ACL and 21 Century (Linda Ernst) for the summer
reading clubs and fro summer programming.
V. STAFF
A. Library Clerk Kelly Olson, completed the EBSCO renewal listing updates, placed and
received book orders, performed daily checks of extended privilege reports and new
registration reports (average 30 checks per day), and prepared copy for use in a CH
police department distribution to the schools.
B. Library Aide, Cristy Tombarge, prepared copy and layout for the winter events calendar,
established book displays a) “Character Counts”, b) back to school, updated the order
files, and prepared and printed flyers and posters for fall programming.
C. Library pages, aided in the weeding process, continue to check selection tools and make
preliminary entries into spreadsheet. Shelving has been heavy. Pages also prepared bins
for bulk loan pick up.
