PROGRAMS  The final Baby Read Baby Grow program was held on May 4  Classes From ICS visited the library during the week of May 10 – May 14  Columbia Heights preschool visited on May 12 and were treated to a special tour and storytime  Captn’ Curly performed for an audience of 51 on May 10 at 3:30  Final ENCORE after school program was held on Friday May 14  Two Kindergarten classes from Valley View elementary visited the library on May 26.  Programming for the year has been booked and contracts are in the mail. We have a heavy schedule of programs  MacPhail presented Sing, Play, Learn for a group of 15 children plus parents on May 19 B. COLLECTION  Collection development was completed on the YA Non Fiction and new materials ordered.  Replacement paperbacks were ordered in preparation for the heavy demand of summer.  An order was prepared for Easy book and CD combos awaiting the return of the purchase req.  Book and CD combos for the easy collection were ordered  Weeding of : JCD782.281723 Ci - 782.281723 L, CD E R, Audio Book R, Print R were completed  Weeding of the Easy non fiction in a attempt to catch cataloging differences has progressed through E 499  Collection development in the Easy Readers is complete and an order has been prepared for replacements and adds C. PROJECTS  National Children’s Book Week was celebrated may 9-May15. Children were given the opportunity to draw their favorite book character.  Orientation for Volunteers was held on May 27. At this time we have 3 th confirmed volunteer with a possible 4.  Preparations are underway for a teen book club to begin meeting in June. th D.U.R.T (did you read that) will be open to kids 6 grade and up. Discussions will be held on Thursday mornings from 11:00-12:00. D. MEETINGS/ GRANTS  I attended the annual pre Summer Reading Program meeting at ACL on May 5. Anoka County Library staff members agreed to help us track COH reading club participants using Anoka County Libraries this summer.  I participated in Highland’s Ice Cream Social on May 20. Lots of families attended the event. Promotional items for Live at the Library, COH summer Events calendar, and summer reading booklists were distributed. E. STAFF  The following pages met with the Director and I for performance evaluations on May 25: Rachel Myers, Renee Rewitzer, Lauren Gutkaes.  Cristy Tombarge created registration forms for all summer programs, spreadsheet to track SRP registrations, SRP bulletin Boards (3 total), signs for use by CMS in Advertising SRP, Events Calendars (two total), and established two book displays.  Kelly Olson created promotional materials for D.U.R.T., prepared the May issue of Applaud, sent and received book orders, prepared and forwarded contracts for programs, and began the Easy Non Fiction weeding project.
