I. Programs
a. The Friends of the Library gathered at the library to process Campbell’s
labels in order to take advantage of a point-doubling opportunity. The
library now has 9,579 points banked in the Campbell’s Labels for
Education program.
b. At Home Service provided materials to four patrons in April who received
fifty-four items, including books, large print books and audio books.
c. Volunteers in the library provided eight hours of service, delivering
materials to At Home Service patrons and processing Campbell’s labels.
d. The book club met on April 28 for a lively discussion of Patricia Wood’s
debut novel, Lottery, and to share laughter, life experiences related to the
book, coffee, and cupcakes.
II. Meetings
a. I have been appointed the library’s representative to the city Safety
Committee which met on April 22 to review recent injuries and incidents
and to engage in ongoing revision of the safety policy.
b. I was introduced to the Columbia Heights City Council at their meeting on
April 26, 2010.
III. Projects
a. I have been training extensively on library machines, computer systems
and software, work processes, and library and city policies and meeting
library patrons, and meeting city employees as well as members of the
Friends, the Library Board, and the Foundation.
b. I was introduced to the Columbia Heights City Council at their meeting on
April 26, 2010.
c. In the lobby during April were an interactive display inviting patrons to
declare how the library helps them to thrive as part of National Library
Week, and a variety of “…For Dummies” titles on the slat board display.
d. I prepared orders for Office Depot and Demco (general supplies) and
Midwest Tapes.
