Panels should be replaced as necessary. Inspection Guide9ines • Pro-Tacts should be visually inspected monthly. High hit areas should be inspected more frequently. Range Owner should inspect the Dura-Panel's for any significant wear; such as cracks, over 2 inches or holes that are deeper than 1 inch and a diameter larger than 1/2 inch. If any of the above issues exist the Dura-Panel should be replaced. • Steel Back Plate should be inspected whenever ®ura-Panels are being rotated. Check the steel back plate for cracks, dents, and/or warpage. (f 0) days following delivery. It is normal for Dura-Bloc's to shrink slightly after installation. Shrinkage may cause the Dura-Bloc columns to topple over due to a lack of tension. Dura-Bloc's should be visually inspected after every 2,500 rounds or 10,000 rounds per column. Range Owner should inspect the Dura-Bloc's for any significant wear; such as cracks, over 2 inches or holes that are deeper than 4 inches and a diameter larger than 5 inches. If any of the above issues are spotted the Dura-Bloc's should be rotated in the column or replaced. • Dura-Panels should be visually inspected whenever the Dura-Bloc's are removed from the bullet trap. Dura-Panels should be replaced if a hole larger than '/z inch is spotted. • Steel Baclc Plate should be inspected whenever Dura-Bloc's are rotated on a bullet trap or target system, or quarterly whichever comes first. Check the steel back plate for cracks, dents, and/or warpage. Operating Instructions Page 14 of 34 L t Bullet Traps - EncapsulatorT'" Granular Trap EncapsulatorT"" Granular Trap Maintenance and Care Instructions Inspectson Guude96nes • Granular Rubber should be visually inspected daily to ensure the proper depth of coverage (12 to 24 inchs depending on caliber of rounds being shot). • Granular Rubber should be added as required to provide the required coverage. • Collectuon ®rawers should be checked and regularly emptied when 3/4 full. • The Granular Trap should be cleared of debris (targets, exposed lead) on a regular basis. • Flanee retardant should be added when new rubber is added to the trap. • Steel BaclC Plate should be inspected weekly on the bullet trap. Operating Instructions The Range Systems Guardian TS clearing device is designed to contain an accidental discharge from any standard weapon during the procedure to make the weapon safe. It is not intended for nor is it warranted to serve as a bullet trap. Step 1 Weapon positoon Without engaging the trigger, insert the muzzle of the weapon into the rectangular opening in the front of the clearing device. Step ~ Weapon clearing While maintaining the muzzle within the clearing device opening, conduct a weapons clearing procedure in accordance with your agency's Standard Operating Procedure. Should the weapon accidentally discharge, the round will be safely contained within the clearing device. Step 3 Weapon Removal Once the magazine has been removed and the weapon chamber cleared, it is now safe to remove muzzle from the clearing device. It is normal for Dura-Bloc's to shrink slightly after installation. Failure to inspect tension may result in the potential for column movement or tipping due to shrinkage of the Dura-Bloc's. Dura-Bloc's should be visually inspected after every 2,5®® rounds or 1®,00® rounds per coluo~ra of standard sidearm ammunition. Owner should inspect the Dura-Bloc's for any significant wear, such as cracks over 2 inches or holes that are deeper than 4 inches and a diameter larger than 5 inches. If .any of the above issues are spotted the Dura-Blocs should be rotated in the column or replaced. • Dura-Panels should be visually inspected whenever the Dura-Bloc's are rerrooved from the bullet trap.
