I. PROGRAMS
A. Four sessions of Winter Storytime were held in February. Kelly Olson
provided one session in my absence.
B. Encore Classes from District 13 began meeting on 2/1/2010. They will
meet each Friday until the end of April.
C. Classes from Immaculate Conception School and Global Academy visited
during the week of February 1 through 8.
D. Bulk loan of materials to area schools and classrooms was provided on
February 25
E. Adventure Club (District 13) picked up bulk loan materials on February
17.
II. COLLECTION
A. Weeding of the Easy Non Fiction section continues.
Collection development in the paperback areas has begun in preparation
B.
for the summer reading demand.
C. Weeding of the following areas within the collection was completed: JCD782.14
K- 782.14 Z, All Paperbacks, Audio Book 000-229, Print 000-229.
D. 2 Book orders were placed with B&T
III. PROJECTS
A. Purchase Requisitions were forwarded to finance for materials, supplies
and incentives for the 2010 Summer Reading Clubs. District 13 will be
distributing reading logs to all students the last week of the school year
and requesting that they return to a library and participate in Summer
Reading programs. The 2010 themes will be Make waves @ your library
(teens) and Make a Splash @ your library (elementary). 2010 Summer

Reading is supported by Macy’s and by 21 Century Learning Grant
B. Heights Happenings copy was proofed and is on it’s way to the printer
C. Summer performers have been booked and contracts are in the mail.
IV. MEETINGS
A. I attended a committee meeting of Heighten the Arts on February 16
B. The Library has been asked to participate in Valley Views Carnival on
March 5.
V. STAFF
A. Children’s Clerk, Kelly Olson worked on various forms of the 2009
annual report, prepared materials for National Library week, prepared the
February edition of Applaud, prepared publicity materials for Buddy up
and Read with a Friend. Placed and received several book orders and
made changes in Easy Nonfiction listings to match existing entries in
workflows.
B. Library Aid, Cristy Tombarge completed final checks of several book
orders, prepared materials for Teen Tech Week Bulletin Boards, prepared
a February edition of the Teen Page, produced publicity materials for Kids
Read Dogs Listen and updated the order files.
C. Pages spent the month of February processing materials, aiding staff in the
weeding of the collection, checking selection tools and book orders, and
shelving materials.
