HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution No. 2008-137RESOLUTION 2008-137 REGARDING LABOR AGREEMENT BETWEEN CITY OF COLUMBIA HEIGHTS AND ERNATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF FIREFIGHTERS, LOCAL 1216 WHEREAS, negotiations 1-iave proceeded between the International Associatian of Firefighters (IAFF), Local 1216, representing Firefighters of the City, and the City' s negotiating spokesperson, and said negotiations have resulted in a mutually acceptable contract for calendar years 2008 and 2009; WHEREAS, changes to the current contract are attached, and a copy of said contract is available at the Office of the City Manager and is made a part hereof by reference; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the contract agreement, as negotiated, be and is hereby established as the salary and fringe benefit program for calendar years 2008 and 2009 for IAFF bargaining unit employees of the City; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Mayor and City Manager be authorized to execute this agreement. ARTICLE XVIII INSURANCE March 20, 2008 18.1 The EMPLOYER. will contribute up to a maximum of six hundred sixty-five dollars ($665) per month per (permanent and probationary full-time) employee for calendar year 2008 for group health and group dental, including dependent coverage, and employee life insurance. 18.2 The EMPLOYER will contribute up to a maximum of seven hundred and five dollars ($705) per month per (permanent and probationary full-time) employee for calendar year 2009 for group health and group dental, including dependent coverage, and employee life insurance. 18.3 Employees not choosing dependent coverage cannot be covered at EMPLOYER expense for any additional insurance than the individual group health, group dental., and group life insurance. Additional life insurance can be purchased. by the employee at the employee's expense to the extent allowed under the EMPLOYER'S group policy. 2. ARTICLE XXIII DURATION 23.1 This AGREEMENT shall be effective as of the first day of January, 2008, unless otherwise noted, and shall remain in force and effect until the thirty-first day of December, 2009. In the event a new contract is not agreed upon by December 31 of the bargaining period, the existing AGREEMENT shall remain in force until such new AGREEMENT is agreed upon. 3. Such employer contribution will not exceed $375 for calendar year 2008, and $400 for calendar year 2009.
