HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution No. 2008-50RESOLUTION NO. 2008-50 BEING A RESOLUTION REQUESTING CONSIDERATION OF INFRASTRUCTURE FUNDING THROUGH THE NON-MOTORIZED TRANSPORTATION PILOT PROGRAM FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF A PEDESTRIAN BRIDGE OVER CENTRAL AVENUE (T.H. 65) WHEREAS, the City of Columbia Heights desires to reconstruct the pedestrian bridge over T.H. 65, at 49`h Avenue NE; WHEREAS, the improvements will benefit both the City of Columbia Heights, surrounding communities and the Minnesota Department of Transportation; and WHEREAS, the City of Columbia Heights is committed to securing other federal, state, and local funding if the project is selected by Transit for Livable Communities as part of the Non- Motorized Transportation Pilot Program. NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Columbia Heights that the City shall be responsible for the preliminary engineering, project design, and permitting functions of said improvements; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the construction costs of the improvements not federally funded be shared between the Non-Motorized Transportation Program and the City of Columbia Heights.
