The Friends of the Library met on February 4 in the Library. Becky and Marsha presented the wish list of items for the Friends to purchase. The group very generously agreed to purchase all four items on the list: a dehumidifier for the print room, paperback shelving for the adult reading room, a new coffee pot, and a DVD player. All items have been received. The friends also agreed to assist with the PAWS for Reading program by volunteering their time. b. At Home Service made three deliveries this month for a total of 50 items. Another patron was added to the program in February. c. Volunteers continue to make progress on projects in the library. The genre project is nearly completed, the music compact discs have been put in order, many books have been labeled for the sale shelf, and the shelves have been dusted. II. Collection a. An order for 26 DVDs was placed in February and should arrive at the library in March. Titles ordered include: 101 Dalmatians Platinum Edition, La Vie en Rose, and Waitress. b. The standing order for books on compact disc was reinstated for two titles per month. This service includes free replacement of damaged discs and a discount on titles ordered. c. A music compact disc order was placed in February and should arrive in March. d. Weeding of the collection in the 600’s and part of the music CDs will be completed in February. III. Projects a. Fidelity cleaners continue to do an adequate job of cleaning the library. Several furniture items have been moved in February; the cleaner has been wonderful about cleaning any messes we have found. b. Displays in the library feature the Hot Reads for Cold Nights program on both the bulletin board and the slat board displayer.
