I. PROGRAMS
A. Registration for Go Bananas reading programs is 361.
B. Registration for Go Wild is 113.
C. Storytime attendance is high on Tuesday morning with 30 to 50 kids, Monday afternoon varies with 30
being close to the average, and Friday's Espanol Storytime is off to a slow start with 6 in attendance.
D. The Puppet Wagon drew about twenty people in the grassy lot across the street.
E. Neighborhood Bridges students interviewed a dozen seniors from the community as research for their final
performance. The Shareformance is scheduled for 7:00 pm on Friday, June 29 at the library. All are welcome
to attend. The program is yet again receiving high praise from the participants. It looks like we will be putting
together another MRAC grant application.
F. Anime workshop currently has twenty teens registered
G. Techno Teens scheduled for August has 2 places remaining.
H. We have 17 teen volunteers and their help has been invaluable. Having these volunteers has enabled the
staff to spend time working directly with the patrons while the volunteers take responsibility for program set up
and registrations. Staff is spending a lot more time recommending book titles and aiding families with locating
materials on various reading levels.
II. COLLECTION
A. Several book orders were placed this month.
B. The first installment of the books on cd standing order were ordered.
C. Easy mending project has been started with the help of the volunteers
III. PROJECTS
A. Plans are underway for the annual American Girl program. This year's American Girl hostess is Kirsten.
B. Staff has begun preparations for Teen Read Week in October
C. Planning is underway for the Volunteer Recognition event scheduled for August 23
V. STAFF
A. Circulation has been heavy for most of June keeping the staff busy with recommendations, shelving,
checking in and checking out materials. Pages have also been mending easy materials, checking our donated
materials, checking selection tools, and registering program participants.
B. Cristy Tombarge, Program Aide prepared materials for the adult bulletin board, aided in receiving books,
began inventory of the storytime collection, and printed a number of booklists and flyers. Cristy also kindly
adjusted her regular schedule in order to give us coverage at the circulation desk while Kelly Olson received
cross training.
C. Kelly Olson, Children's Department Clerk, sent and received several book orders, produced two new
booklists, and received cross training on linking books and board packets.
