This meeting was called to go over the alternatives for alley drainage
on Main Street to 2nd Street; 44th to 45th. The .first alternative is a
storm drain in the alley which would drain into a storm sewer on 45th
Avenue which is already installed. This had previously been estimated at
$3.50 per front foot, plus $9.00 per front foot for concrete alley,,
making a total of $12.50 per f.f. for this project.
However, by installing the drain at a minimum depth and using City Forces,
the estimate has been lowered to $2.75 per f.f. for the storm drain (a
total cost of $3200), and $8.00 per f.f. for concrete alley, making an
estimated total of $10.75 per front foot.
The other alternative is to obtain a drainage easement and install a
drainage structure which would run between 4415 and 4419 Main Street
and drain into the gutter on Main Street. This is estimated at $2.00
per f.f. for the drainage structure (a':total cost of $2300), and $8.00
per f.f. for concrete alley,-making an estimated total of $10.00 per frc3nt
foot. However, this alternative would involve compensation to the two
owners now and possible problems would have to be dealt with in the future.

which will drain ':into the storm sewer on 45th Avenue at an estimated cost
of $10.75 per front foot. Roll Call: All Ayes.
